Jump and Hover is a physics-focused platform puzzle game that adds a clever twist to classic jumping. Guide a cube through dangerous stages, manage your time in the air, and get to the final exit.
In Jump and Hover, reaching the next platform takes more than a well-timed jump. Your cube can leap across gaps and then hover in mid-air, giving you extra control over your movement. This special ability changes how you approach each obstacle and lets you reach platforms that would be difficult to land on with a normal jump. The goal is to navigate through Sharp object-filled levels, avoid red hazards, collect batteries, and make it safely to the exit portal.
The hover ability is the main feature that sets Jump and Hover apart from traditional four-key platform games. Instead of simply jumping from one platform to another, you can hold the jump button while airborne to remain suspended for a short period.
Your hover energy is shown by the green bar above the cube. It drains while you are floating, so staying in the air for too long can leave you without enough energy to reach the next safe platform. Plan your jumps before leaving the ground and use hovering only when it helps you adjust your position.
Batteries are scattered throughout the levels and provide an important way to restore your hover energy. Some batteries are placed in mid-air, encouraging you to extend your jump and collect them before continuing toward the next platform.
Touching the ground also restores your energy, so landing safely can be just as important as collecting a battery. Use these recharge points to prepare for longer sections where you need to spend more time hovering.
Watch the distance between platforms and consider where your cube will land before jumping. Short bursts of hovering can help you correct your position, while a carefully planned landing can save energy for the next obstacle.
Before jumping, you need to check the position of the next platform and decide how much hover time you might need. Try not to hold the hover button continuously. Saving some energy for the final part of a jump can help you correct your position and avoid falling into Sharp objects. When a battery is nearby, you can also use your hover to reach it and continue moving through the level.
Traditional platform games often focus on running and jumping between fixed platforms. Jump and Hover adds another layer by letting the cube control its position after leaving the ground. If you want to play a similar game, try Arrow Pathway.
