Explore the Crystal Temple in Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple! Guide the two elemental heroes through the challenges in each level. Collect every gem, reach both exits, and let the portal network guide your next move.
The temple contains 39 levels, with each stage combining platforming and environmental puzzles. Fireboy and Watergirl must move through separate hazards, activate mechanisms, and reach their matching exits while collecting red, blue, and white gems along the way.
The portal system gives the platform levels an extra layer of movement. Black and white portal lights indicate different teleport destinations, and entering from a particular side affects where the character or a pushed object emerges. Some portals only become usable after a switch is activated.
Fireboy and Watergirl cannot simply follow the same path in Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple. Fireboy is safe in lava and collects red gems, while water is deadly to him. Watergirl can travel through water and collect blue gems, but lava is dangerous for her. Both can collect white gems, while the toxic green liquid is dangerous to both.
This elemental split turns ordinary platform sections into coordinated routes. One character may need to hold a button while the other crosses a newly opened path, or one hero may need to activate a mechanism before the other can continue.
Crystal portals connect distant sections of the temple and can also transport blocks and other movable objects. Their paired lights reveal the destination, so checking the portal colors before stepping inside can prevent an unwanted detour. Some stages also use light sensors. Move a matching lever to rotate the beam or push against a slider to aim the light at a sensor and activate a platform.
Ice introduces another platforming rule. Fireboy slides quickly across it, while Watergirl moves slowly, and neither hero can jump while standing on ice. Blue light can freeze water into ice, while red light can melt it back into water.
Buttons and levers control floating platforms, doors, fans, and other temple mechanisms. Some buttons need to stay pressed, while timed buttons give only a short window before their effect ends.
The level map tracks your progress through different puzzle types and objectives. Completing a stage is only part of the challenge: extra objectives can upgrade a completed level from orange to green.
Treat the temple like a mechanical maze. Map the portals, separate the hazards between the two heroes, and use each switch at the right moment. By the final exit, the whole stage should feel less like a collection of obstacles and more like one connected machine.
Fireboy and Watergirl 4: Crystal Temple ends up feeling like a two-piece puzzle box turned into a platform adventure - every gem, portal, and button has a place in the solution.
